How to order
You may order a prescription online (filling out the online form below), by phone (09 837 0740), OR by email (scripts@ratanui.co.nz).
Please allow 1 to 2 working days for your prescription to be actioned. It is usually ready by 2.30pm the following day.
Please be specific stating each drug name and quantities required. Vague requests such as “just a repeat of my medications” can not be accepted. All prescription requests require your Name, Date of birth or NHI No and your pack or file number.
Repeat prescription fees is $22 for adults.

Electronic prescriptions
Ratanui Medical is now changed to electronic prescripitons (eScripts). Patients will no longer be able to collect their prescriptions as it will be sent directly to a pharmacy of your choice. The prescription is emailed directly to your pharmacy of choice, please advise doctor or nurse if you wish to change to another pharmacy as your file will have the last pharmacy you used for your previous prescription.
Patient’s will be emailed a copy of the prescription and an invoice which is confirmation that your prescription has been processed and directed to your pharmacy. We no longer send SMS text to advise as you should receive an email however we will SMS Text patients who do not have an email address.
All prescriptions for enrolled patients will be a standard fee of $22 as there is no funding for prescriptions as compared with consult fees
Children under 17 have a fee of $12.
A Nurse Fee is charged if you need nursing care such as blood pressure monitoring or specialised medication. Blood Pressure checks by nurse is $12
Note: If you have not been assessed by your GP for six months or more, and depending on your type
of medication, your GP/Nurse may request for you to make an appointment before they can prescribe your repeat medication.

You may request repeat prescriptions via the phone. Please call 09 837 0740 and press Option 2 when prompted.
If a nurse is currently on a call, you may leave a message.
Please provide your full name, folder number, date of birth, phone number and exact name and type, dose and quantity of the medication, that you need.

Answerphone messages are checked daily. We will not phone back to confirm prescription orders on the answerphone.
SMS text will be sent to patients to notify when prescription is ready to be collected.
We are also able to email prescriptions to your local pharmacy. Please include the name and address of your pharmacy. This may carry an additional charge. Patients requesting for prescriptions to be sent to pharmacy directly, are also notified by email/SMS text when their prescription has been sent to pharmacy of choice.
All prescriptions will now be invoiced when the prescription has been issued (not at collection).
